Texas born sweetheart Joy Davis has been setting her mark and reaching beyond her comfort zone for 2014. Raised by a family of musicians, Joy had the genetic urge to pursue her passion for music from the start. Joy grew up on stages all over the country watching her father, Guitar Hall of Fame, slide guitarist, "Slidin' Stevie Davis" perform with artists including B.W Stephenson, Bugs Henderson, Stevie Ray Vaughn and the list goes on. With influences from Emmylou Harris and Patty Griffin to Ray Charles and Patsy Cline, Joy and her older sister committed to their love off music and each story it tells. As a teen Joy spent time on the road and in studios lending her voice and heart to multiple artists, learning all she could about the business of music as a performer.
Joy unknowingly began her path as a solo artist in 2007 with her performance at The Austin City Limits Festival. The Texas Rodeo, and Festival shows across the state shortly followed. In the fall of 2007, Joy joined forces with Texas CASA. Her goal is to bring awareness to Texans about our forgotten children. Joy joined CASA in benefits across the state urging people to "Come Along" and join the fight against child neglect and abuse. At the start of 2008 Joy signed a development deal with producer Chris Estes of Bestes Music in Nashville, Tennessee, and began recording the first of 3 singles currently available.
After a 2 year break to focus on writing, Joy is back and stronger than ever. Regaining focus on her initial goals of reaching out through her music to help anyone and everyone she can, with her voice, heart and the ability to inspire and make a difference with every song she writes.
Joy believes that being a musician isn't about the glamour and recognition, it's about the love of music and the expression of life.
